Key intel for switchers
Waiting periods
They only apply:
- to services you aren't covered for at your current fund
- to services you have a lower level of cover for (e.g. going from excluded to covered)
- if you lower your Hospital excess when you join us (including moving to a zero excess).
If you’ve served your waits and switch to the same or a lower level of cover with us, waiting periods won’t be an issue for you. Just make sure you join us within 60 days of leaving your previous health fund.
Transfer Certificate
When you cancel your cover, your current fund sends us a Transfer Certificate (also known as a Clearance Certificate). It’s a record of your health cover, and we use it when we set up your membership.
We can contact your current fund to request a Transfer Certificate on your behalf. All you need to do is complete the transfer section of our online join form, or provide your current health fund details if you’re joining over the phone or in person.
Cooling-off period
If we’re not the fund for you, just let us know within 30 days of joining. We’ll cancel your membership and provide a full refund (provided you haven’t made any claims).
