How do I use my digital membership card ?
You can use your digital membership card to claim on the spot at your provider via HICAPS. To use your digital card, you’ll need to have the Teachers Health app on your phone.
iOS
When you logged in to our app or registered for the first time, you would have seen a prompt to add your digital card to Apple Wallet.
If you added your card to Apple Wallet and want to use it at your provider, open Apple Wallet on your device, select your Teachers Health card and tap to claim.
If you haven’t yet added your card, open the Teachers Health app to do so:
- Tap Digital Card on the Home screen
- On the digital card screen, tap Add to Apple Wallet
- Follow the prompts to add the card to your wallet.
Once you’ve added your digital card to Apple Wallet, you can use it to claim even when you’re logged out of the Teachers Health app.
Android
When you log in to our app, you can start using your digital membership card straight away. Just unlock your phone and hold it to your provider’s HICAPS machine to make a claim.
Having trouble using your digital card?
- Make sure your device supports NFC and NFC is enabled – this is needed to use your card.
- Your phone needs to be unlocked to use your digital card.
- You must be logged in to our app on your device to use your card (our app doesn’t have to be open when claiming, however – your device just needs to be unlocked).
- Our app needs to be the only insurance app with a digital card installed on your device in order to use your Teachers Health digital card.
- Check your device settings to make sure digital cards aren’t disabled.
