How can I downgrade my cover?
Before making changes, please consider:
- Your options – which Hospital and Extras cover is right for you?
- Your lower level of benefits – which services will be excluded, or covered at a lower level?
- Waiting periods – they may apply if you choose to upgrade in the future.
Ready to update your cover?
You can do this via Online Member Services:
1. Get started
- Log in
- Go to Membership
- Click Cover details
- Select the Edit icon next to your product name
2. Choose cover
- Select Cover type
- Select Cover start date
- Click Next
- Scroll to new cover
- Click Choose
- Click Next
3. Review update(s)
- Check new cover details
- Tick Declaration
- Click Next
- You're done!
Your next payment
Be aware that downgrading may impact your ‘paid to' date (i.e. if your premium is decreasing, your next payment may be due later). You'll find your paid to date under Cover details.
If you change your mind
All new cover comes with a 30 day cooling-off period. That means you can revert to your former cover (within 30 days) without re-serving relevant Hospital and/or Extras waiting periods.
If you upgrade after 30 days, waiting periods will apply for the increased benefits.
