Can I claim for pregnancy compression garments via Extras cover?
Eligibility
To claim for pregnancy compression garments, you need to be on Top Extras with any applicable waiting period served.
Products
You may be able claim towards pregnancy compression leggings or TGA-approved recovery shorts that are:
- Purchased from a registered Australian business with a physical presence in Australia.
You can’t claim towards:
- Pregnancy active wear (e.g. sports-related or body enhancing garments).
Claiming
When submitting your claim, please include:
- Completed Aids and Appliances form signed by your doctor (this will be valid for 12 months, after which you'll need to submit another form to claim this benefit)
- Itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who’ll be wearing the garments).
Limits
Like most services under the Artificial Aids & Appliances benefit, Pregnancy compression garments has an annual sub-limit.
