Can I claim for hearing aids via Extras cover?
Eligibility
To claim for hearing aids, you need to be on Top Extras cover with any applicable waiting period served.
Products
You may be able claim towards hearing aids that are:
- Purchased from a registered Australian business with a physical presence in Australia.
You can’t claim towards:
- CDs or programs
- Remote controls
- Remote devices
- Maintenance and labour fees
- Subscriptions (including battery and repair).
Claiming
When submitting your claim, please include:
- Completed Aids and Appliances form signed by your doctor*
- Itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who’ll be using the hearing aids).
Limits
The Hearing aids benefit:
- Has an annual limit that increases once you've been on Top Extras for 5 years. For the current limits see the product info
- Is claimable every 3 years (one pair of hearing aids per person).
